About Brad
As a basic summary, I am a new media expert with a unique blend of creative, technology, and analytical/planning skills who specializes in video for the web, internet marketing, and social networking/media. I currently have approximately over 50 major corporate videos, 50 television episodes and commercials, an award winning PBS documentary, and more than 7 years of production/post-production and new media experience under my belt. During my career, I have taped, edited, and produced everything from weddings to cable television series. I have also taught Final Cut Pro and video production both at Apple Authorized Training Centers and on the collegiate level for Western Michigan University.
On a personal level, my beautiful wife and I were married in November of 2007 and currently live in our first house located in Oak Park, MI. Married life is amazing. The house is a work in progress. Our love gets better and better every day! We love to watch movies, go for walks, ride bikes, cook together, hang out with friends, and do home remodeling projects. No kids yet… but for sure in the future. For now we are content trying to learn to live with our rescued puppies Bomber (toy poodle) and Gunner (mini poodle and Bichon Frize mix).
No matter which way you look at it, social media and social networking are completely changing how people interact with their world and those around them. While there are a lot of growing pains that will take place, I believe that eventually most or all businesses (including sports organizations and even traditional media) will have to embrace and use social media to increase the overall engagement of their customers, clients, and fans.
Using social media sites like Facebook, MySpace, and even personal blogs can be fun and keep you connected with friends and family. If you are not careful with how you use them, though, they could cost you your job!
A video containing a general overview talking about how social media is the newest trend in internet marketing.
In a study that Careerbuilder.com conducted in September 2008, it was found that 1 in 5 hiring managers conduct some sort of social networking search before deciding on a candidate. With the likelihood that this trend will only continue, it becomes very important that you manage your personal brand online.
